Everyone at Animal Kingdom's rope drop sprints for Avatar Flight of Passage. Don't. It's the park's heaviest line most of the day, typically 45 to 60 min, and its softest window is the last two hours. Start on Na'vi River Journey and Expedition Everest, add Kali once it opens, and push the safari past 3pm.
The one thing
Flight of Passage is the ride everyone remembers, so it's also the ride the rope-drop crowd sprints for. That's exactly why you shouldn't join them. It typically runs 45 to 60 min and holds there most of the day, then eases in the last two hours, its one real dip. Spend your morning on Na'vi River Journey and Expedition Everest instead, both far cheaper than Pandora's headliner at the open, then pick up Kali River Rapids once it opens, later than the rest of the park. Push Kilimanjaro Safaris to after 3pm, once its own morning peak has collapsed, and save Flight of Passage for the walk toward the exit.
Be inside for Early Entry, then walk past Pandora's line
Disney Resort hotel guests, and select other hotels, get into any of the four parks 30 minutes before official opening, every day through 2027, with valid admission. At Animal Kingdom, Early Entry currently covers Flight of Passage, Na'vi River Journey, Expedition Everest and Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, not Kali River Rapids or Kilimanjaro Safaris. Most of the crowd heads straight for Flight of Passage. Go to Na'vi instead.
Cross to Asia for Everest, then catch Kali at 9
Expedition Everest is on the Early Entry list too, and it's short at the open, well under its late-morning peak. Kali River Rapids isn't on the list, and Disney's own page for the ride lists a 9am opening, later than the rest of the park, so circle back once it's running.
Now ride Kilimanjaro Safaris
The safari trucks are busiest in the morning, then the wait collapses by early afternoon and stays short through close. Ride it after 3pm instead of during the morning rush.
Close with Flight of Passage
This is the only real dip Flight of Passage gets all day, in the last two hours before close. Everyone who rope-dropped it this morning already used up their one ride; you get yours cheaper.

Na'vi River Journey
Early Theme Park Entry gets you into Pandora 30 minutes before the general public, and both Na'vi River Journey and Flight of Passage are on Disney's Early Entry list. Na'vi is the cheap one this early, while Flight of Passage is already long and only eases in the last two hours, so ride Na'vi now and save the headliner for the end.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is also on the Early Entry list, and its wait barely moves off 10 min all day. Grab it now, on the way toward Asia, while Kali River Rapids is still closed.
Expedition Everest
Cross into Asia now, while the line is still short. Everest is on the Early Entry list too, and it climbs to its peak by late morning, so this is the cheapest it gets until the end of the day.
Kali River Rapids
Kali isn't on Disney's Early Entry list, and the ride's own page lists a 9am opening, later than the rest of the park. Circle back now that it's running: it's near empty at this hour and climbs into the 40s and 50s by midday.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
The safari trucks were busiest in the morning, and by now the wait has collapsed. It stays short through close, so this is an easy stop.
Avatar Flight of Passage
This is the only real dip Flight of Passage gets, in the last two hours before close. Everyone who rope-dropped it this morning paid more for the same ride.
Na'vi River Journey
Without Early Entry you're walking in with everyone else, and most of that crowd is heading straight for Flight of Passage. Let them. Na'vi is the cheap one this early and builds through the morning.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
The wait barely moves off 10 min for most of the day, so catch it now before the crowds build, on your way toward Asia.
Expedition Everest
Everest is next. It's still short at this hour, well under its late-morning peak, so it's worth riding now before it climbs.
Kali River Rapids
Kali isn't on Disney's Early Entry list, and it doesn't matter here either, since the ride's own page lists a 9am opening for everyone. It's still cheap this early and climbs into the 40s and 50s by midday.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
The safari peaked in the morning and has already dropped off. Riding after 3pm catches it once the wait has collapsed.
Avatar Flight of Passage
Save it for the last two hours before close, the only time its line actually eases. Racing here at rope drop just gets you the same long line hours earlier.
Two ways to run the day depending on whether you have Early Entry, but the order underneath is the same: ride Na'vi and Everest as soon as they're open, pick up Kali once it opens, let Kilimanjaro Safaris cool off past 3, and close with Flight of Passage instead of opening with it. Times assume an 8am open, so shift them to your date's posted hours; on days the park stays open later, the same order holds with more room at the end for Flight of Passage.
This plan will break. That's the point. Across a 30-day stretch in July and August 2026, at least one of Animal Kingdom's six tracked attractions was down or closed for 30 minutes or more in the middle of the day on 29 of those 30 operating days. Kali River Rapids adds its own wrinkle: weather closures are common on the rapids. When a headliner goes down, check the My Disney Experience app for its current status before you commit to a line, and have a backup ride in the same land ready to go.

Na'vi River Journey and Expedition Everest are the cheap ones right at open, and Kali River Rapids joins them once it opens at 9. Flight of Passage is already busy by this point, so leave it alone. Ride the cheap ones as they open.
Kilimanjaro Safaris is busiest in the morning, then its line collapses by early afternoon and stays short through close. Catch Zootopia: Better Zoogether! whenever it fits your schedule since its wait barely moves, and ride the safari once you're past 3.
Flight of Passage holds a long line almost the entire day and only eases in the last two hours before close. That's your window. Ride it on the way toward the exit instead of fighting the rope-drop crowd for it.

Multi Pass at Animal Kingdom has no tiers: pick any three experiences and arrival windows ahead of time, then book another each time you use one.
