Magic Kingdom, rope drop to close.

Walt Disney World isn't in the Ride Ready app yet. Ride Ready is independent and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is Magic Kingdom's biggest time cost, and Early Entry doesn't cover it: it opens to everyone at the official start, when its line is shortest. Ride it first, then work Frontierland. Save Pirates of the Caribbean for after 9pm, when it drops to almost nothing.

Early Entry doesn't cover TRON, Big Thunder or Tiana's.

Disney's Early Entry list for Magic Kingdom is a land rule, not a thrill rule: it opens Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. TRON Lightcycle / Run is the exception in Tomorrowland, and Frontierland stays shut, so Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Tiana's Bayou Adventure wait for the official open with everyone else. Disney's Early Entry page lists what's running that week, and it changes, so check it before you go.

  1. 8:30a

    Early Entry opens the gate

Early Entry runs Fantasyland and Tomorrowland rides only, so Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the priority.

  2. 9:30a

Peter Pan's Flight, still in Fantasyland

Also on the list, and it builds into the 40s by late morning and stays there through the afternoon, so take it in the same early sweep.

  3. 10:20a

    TRON Lightcycle / Run

TRON, Big Thunder and Tiana's aren't in the Early Entry lineup; they opened to everyone at 9am. With Fantasyland done, TRON is the next stop: it holds in the 50s through mid-afternoon and runs longest in the evening.

  4. 11:25a

    Bank Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

It typically runs 25 to 30 min, so grab it once you're through the Early Entry rides instead of planning a trip back.

The Magic Kingdom rope drop order, with or without Early Entry

  1. 9:00a

    TRON Lightcycle / Run

The biggest time cost in the park, and it isn't part of Early Entry, so the official open is the earliest anyone gets on it. It's at its shortest now and runs longest in the evening, so ride it before you do anything else. Lightning Lane Single Pass is the paid alternative if you'd rather not stand in it.

  2. 10:05a

    Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Head to Frontierland once you're off TRON. It opens near a walk-on and is already climbing by the time standby guests get here, but it's still under the 40s and 50s it holds from lunch through the afternoon. Tiana's closes for refurbishment from November 2, 2026, so go straight to Big Thunder if your date falls in that window.

  3. 10:45a

    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Next door, and worth taking now at its typical 25 to 30 min rather than planning a second trip to Frontierland tonight.

  4. 11:35a

    Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The walk to Fantasyland costs you some of the morning, and it holds in the 40s and 50s from here through the evening, so there's no real dip to wait for until the last hour.

  5. 12:35p

    Space Mountain

Tomorrowland is the last stop before the park settles into its afternoon wall. You're arriving near its midday peak, and it only eases into the 30s for the afternoon, so it isn't worth a second trip back.

  6. 9:00p

    Pirates of the Caribbean

Leave this one for the end of the night instead of spending rope drop on it. It holds in the teens and 20s most of the day, then drops to almost nothing after 9pm, one of the most reliable dips in the park.

Two different mornings. Early Entry opens Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, so those guests start on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan's Flight, while TRON Lightcycle / Run, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Tiana's Bayou Adventure open to everyone at the official start. Times assume a 9am open, so shift them to your date's posted hours. On Halloween and Christmas party nights (select nights through December 22) the park closes to day guests at 6pm, which moves the Pirates finish to late afternoon. Tiana's Bayou Adventure closes for refurbishment from November 2, 2026, and Disney hasn't posted a reopening date, so go straight from TRON to Big Thunder if your trip lands in that window.

This plan will break. That's the point. Between July 27 and August 25, 2026, at least one of Magic Kingdom's six tracked headliners was down or closed for 30 minutes or more in the middle of the day on 23 of 30 operating days, about three days in four. When it happens, check the My Disney Experience app for the current status before you commit to a line, and have a backup ride from this list ready to swap in.

Three windows, three jobs

Morning Open – 12p

Bank the Early Entry rides, then TRON before it costs you more

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan's Flight are both in Fantasyland, so Early Entry guests start there while everyone else waits for the 9am open. TRON Lightcycle / Run, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Tiana's Bayou Adventure aren't in the Early Entry lineup, so they open to everyone at once at the official start. TRON is the biggest time cost in the park, so it comes first for rope-drop guests and right after Fantasyland for Early Entry guests.

Midday 12p – 5p

Let the low-key rides carry you

Most headliners sit near their peak now, so this is the stretch for a meal, a show or a slower ride. Jungle Cruise peaks in the late morning and holds near that peak into the evening, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin holds in the 30s until its own late dip, so save both for late instead of forcing them into this window.

Evening 5p – close

Chase the real dips after dark

Pirates of the Caribbean drops to almost nothing after 9pm, and Jungle Cruise falls off hard in the same window. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Peter Pan's Flight all ease off their afternoon plateau before close. TRON is the exception: it runs longest in the evening. On Halloween and Christmas party nights the park closes to day guests at 6pm, so take Pirates in the late afternoon instead.

Outsmart the wait, not just the crowd.

When Disney World lands in the Ride Ready app, it'll catch the moment Pirates of the Caribbean turns into a walk-on or a headliner's line finally eases, so you're pivoting while everyone else is stuck in the wrong queue. Think of it as Waze for theme park lines.
